Taurus: Why Your Life Sucks and How to Fix It
First, I’m a Virgo, so I love Taureans very much. This is NOT meant to be mean. In fact, let me know if you’re a Taurus:
I'm a Terrific Taurus! Click To Tweet
I do tough love on all the zodiac signs, you can see those here.
While you have MANY admirable qualities, you also have some less-than-stellar ones that may be causing some of your issues. Here are some pitfalls you’ll want to consider:
1). You’re working too hard

Again, as a Virgo, I get it. We don’t feel like we’ve done anything if we’ve only worked 14 hours in a day. However, if you’ve been working on a problem nonstop, you are headed toward burnout. You also may be doing too much, and the solution may lie in doing less.
This applies to relationships as well. You don’t *always* have to be the one to initiate. If you’re having relationship troubles, see how hard you’ve been working. Is it possible you’ve given too much? Can you loosen your grip a little?
The Solution: Force yourself to take time off. Put it in your schedule so it feels like you’re still working. Whatever you need to distract you, use it (as long as it’s not dangerous, please). If your problem is within a relationship and you’ve been doing all the work, schedule time away from them. You need your own space and so do they. Use it to find ways to practice self care!

2). You’re holding onto past hurts

I totally get that sometimes, you can’t let go of a hurt, or let it go yet. However, how long have you been carrying these bags around? Let Erikah Bydu sing to you:
Taureans are great at remembering things and calling out bullshit. These are great traits when used in small amounts, but they can take over your life and make you a bitter, angry person. When you remember every small thing you hate about everyone in a room, it can be fun to trade eye-rolls with your Virgo friend across the room. However, don’t hold onto these when you leave.
The Solution: How many grudges are you holding? How many can you let go? This may be a helpful writing exercise. Who are you mad at and why? Now, why are you STILL mad, and is it possible to move on?
It may not be possible (or helpful) in every case. Maybe you need to guard yourself around certain people, and you absolutely should! Just check in with yourself and see who is no longer worth your anger.
3). You’re asking for too much

While you frequently give 110%, you also expect the same from others. Not everyone has the same abilities as you, dear Taurus. Remember that everyone brings their own strengths. They might not be what you expected, but maybe what you want just isn’t possible right now. Maybe your idea of ‘perfect’ differs from your team. While there are times when your insistence on perfection is helpful, it can lead to stress and drama if it’s unnecessary or constant.
The Solution: Get a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle. On the left, write your ideal solution. If everything goes exactly how you want, what does that look like? On the right, write what would be the bare-minimum you will accept. How far do the two sides differ? Can you adjust your expectations? Where are you willing to be flexible?

4). You’re being stubborn

As “the bull,” Taurus is of course known to be strong and stubborn. If your expectations are too high, AND you’re being super demanding, you’re creating a rigid place where no one can please you. You can also dig your heels into an opinion or idea when someone challenges it, simply because you don’t like to be challenged. You have strong beliefs and that’s great, but other people might disagree and it might anger you. This situation will require some work, but I know you’re up for it!
The Solution: Examine both sides of the situation. Even if you completely disagree with the other person, can you try to see where they are coming from, or what led them to their opinion?
This is a tip I learned from my therapist: When in an argument, have both sides state what the other side is mad about. This allows you to step into each other’s headspace and will calm you both down immensely.
Remember also that you don’t have to change your opinion! I’m not saying to throw your ideas out and follow what anyone else says. It may be enough to just say, “I respect where you’re coming from, and I understand you feel (insert feelings here), but I feel this way and I am going to do this.” We all know you’re gonna do you,Taurus, but maybe a frank conversation is all you need to satisfy everyone.
5). You’re Procrastinating

While you can work harder than anyone else, you can also dig your heels in and refuse to do things that don’t please you. Maybe you *think* you want something, but you just can’t bring yourself to get started. Maybe you’re dreading starting a tedious project.
You will also beat yourself up for not getting started (see #1 above) and send yourself into a shame spiral, which makes it even harder to do anything. You KNOW you can do the work, and you KNOW you should, you just can’t muster up the initial energy required because it feels overwhelming.
The Solution: Just start. Take the first step. Once you get going, your bull determination will take over and you’ll find it easy to see it through.
One thing that helps me is to break down my To Do list into very tiny tasks. For example, “Do laundry” can seem insurmountable some days. However, if I break it down like this:
- Gather dirty clothes
- Place in washing machine
- Start washing machine
- Load wet clothes in dryer
- Start dryer
- Remove dry clothes
- Fold clothes
- Put away clothes
This helps me to see exactly what needs to be done and where the crucial steps are (I cannot stop between Steps 3 and 5 or my clothes will smell like mildew). If I only make it to Step 5, that’s okay. I only have 3 steps tomorrow. Breaking things down like this can help you see how to start and then it’s just a matter of starting.

I hope these tips help solve at least some of your problems, Taurus! Feel free to pin this to save it for later, or here is a recap to pin as well:
