Yellow Aventurine is one of many varieties of Aventurine. Green is the most common, but I got a Yellow stone and felt led to work with it.
This was part of my April box from The Crystal Council. Since I didn’t do an experiment last month, I figured this month I should probably get my ass in gear. Yellow Aventurine is said to bring you confidence. I have approximately zero confidence so this should be an interesting experiment.

What is Aventurine?

In general, Aventurine is a form of quartz that is translucent due to mineral inclusions. There is actually a term for its translucence, called Aventurescence.
While green is the most common color, Aventurine also comes in yellow, orange, brown, blue or grey. Of course, they all do slightly different things. Green is said to benefit the heart chakra, while yellow benefits the solar plexus.
What is Yellow Aventurine?

Aventurine can be different colors depending on what minerals are included in it. Yellow Aventurine has inclusions of Mica, which is a group of minerals used in everything from makeup to house paint.
Yellow Aventurine is one of the more rare versions and can usually only be found in large masses in Brazil. Other forms of Aventurine are found mostly in India.
I’ll be honest, when I first saw this stone, I didn’t think it was anything special to look at. I feel like I pass 40 of these every time I go hiking, and there isn’t anything particularly visually grabbing about my particular stone. Still, I feel drawn to it and want to work with it.

What does Yellow Aventurine do?

This is one of those stones that claims to do a variety of things:
- Boost your confidence
- Help you make decisions or focus on the right thing
- Decrease emotional sensitivity
- Stimulate the Solar Plexus chakra
Most of these are related to the Solar Plexus area, and/or confidence. I plan to use “boost my confidence” in general as my goal for this week. If I could hate myself a little less, I feel like my life would be easier.
How do you use Yellow Aventurine?

The Crystal Council recommends meditating with it daily while focusing on your Solar Plexus. I’ve been trying to meditate more (by “try,” I mean I’ve thought about it and then immediately forgot because I have the attention span of a goldfish), so this should help.
I tend to work with all my crystals in similar ways: hiking with them, journaling with them, meditating, yoga, etc. However, I also try to focus on what the stone is supposed to do and work with it that way. Since I’m focusing on boosting my confidence, I’m going to do journaling exercises geared toward that. Obviously it will take way more than a week to boost my confidence, but hopefully this week I’ll learn some important lessons.
