Rose Quartz is said to bring all types of love into your life. In my previous post about it, I decided I was going to focus entirely on self-love.
Loving myself has always been difficult. I was bullied as a kid (both at school and home) and never learned confidence. It’s been a struggle throughout my life, but I’m willing to at least try this week.

My Experience with Rose Quartz
Here is my previous post on Rose Quartz if you want to just learn more about it. This post will focus on my personal experience, my results and my top tips to work with Rose Quartz.
Here is my video if you’d rather watch than read:

Day 1 – Self Care
Today was unseasonably beautiful – upper 60s in early November. It’s actually supposed to be this nice all week, which is exciting! I had my bunny out all day:

I also met my cousin for a socially-distanced outdoor chat, got a lot of work done on my other blog, and got myself this book:
I’m not saying that I’m going to love myself (or even like myself) by the end of the week, but I’m going to do my best to accept myself and provide self-care for myself. Since it’s going to be nice out, I’ll be doing a ton of hiking!
Day 2 – Plans & Promises
In an effort to care for myself, I am going to start taking more vitamins. I have a ton of them and never use them. I want to make it a daily thing. This will also lead me to drink more water, which is always good.
Other things I want to do for myself:
- Take better care of my skin
- Exercise more/better/harder
- Finish my books & classes
I buy SO many books and sign up for courses and then immediately forget about them. I want to prioritize my time and dedicate it to learning and reading about things I’m interested in.

Day 3 – Sunshine, Sadness & the I Ching
Today was much sunnier than yesterday and 70 degrees! In November! I know global warming is bad and I care about the environment and this probably isn’t good, but I can’t do anything about it now except enjoy the day. I recycle and do as much as I can for Earth so when it gives me sunshine I’ll take every bit of it.

Despite the beautiful day, I did have a mental slump. It was around mid-day and lasted until I went to the bookstore, because it is impossible for me to be sad in a bookstore.
There’s a book I’ve been wanting for YEARS, ever since a friend showed it to me in a cafe once. It’s a workbook for the I Ching:
It was sitting out in a random part of the bookstore, waiting for me to find it. I’m so glad I did! I know very little about the I Ching but I want to learn more about it.
Altogether today was great, even with the sad little slump.
Day 4 – Diagnosis
YOU GUYS, I finally have answers. I mentioned in one post about how I thought my sadness might be hormonal, but today I saw my doctor. He diagnosed me with PMDD.
I need to do research on it, but he gave me Prozac to take the week before each period, to help me get through the depression and inability to do anything. I’m really hopeful that this will work, because being sad and unable to do literally anything is exhausting.

Day 5 – Lost and Found
I went on a hike with my two Rose Quartz friends. While hiking, I saw an enormous deer with antlers. We were about 5 feet away from each other. Just a wonderful interaction with nature.

When I got home, I noticed the bigger one was not in my pocket. I looked all over my house and car…gone. My first thought was shit, well maybe I can go back and find it. Then I thought, this is life, it’s fine, maybe someone else will find it who needs it.
I went into my living room and it was just chilling on my couch. Huh? I KNOW I searched that couch. It was just right there, waiting for me.
Honestly, I’m proud of my reaction. I didn’t panic or really even get that negative.
Day 6 – Massive Problems and Solutions
I took several days off from crystal work, mostly because I was depressed and just couldn’t do anything. I took the Prozac but it didn’t seem to do much. Feeling desperate, I contacted my therapist (whom I haven’t seen in months).
She was great, as always. She told me it takes about three months for the Prozac to work. We also discussed how I could manage to work through my depression. I felt way better after talking to her, and I’m happy I was able to reach out and get help.

I’m trying really hard to be kind to myself, can you tell? I don’t know if it will last, but I’m trying, and that’s good.
Day 7 – Self Like
Well, I certainly don’t love myself. But through this week, I’ve been kind to myself. I made a doctor’s appointment, a therapy appointment to try to resolve my depression, and a self-care book (which I haven’t used yet, haha).
I think if you start working with Rose Quartz with any amount of self-like, you can use the following tips to push you into self-love. If you’re like me and hate yourself, hopefully these tips will help you, at the very least, do some kind things for yourself.
My Results Working with Rose Quartz:
- I did my absolute best to practice kindness to myself, and Rose Quartz helped remind me to do that
- Despite the massive depression, I made an effort to find results
I didn’t attract a ton of love, like it’s said to do, but I feel positive about the progress I’ve made.
Tips for Working with Rose Quartz:
- I highly recommend doing self-care things like making doctor/dentist appointments and therapy appointments. These things aren’t fun, but they’re an important way to take care of yourself.
- Celebrate your wins throughout the week, no matter how small. Especially celebrate mental wins when you notice yourself thinking positively.
- Examine where you need more love in your life and take action on it. I focused entirely on self-love, but if you’re looking for a relationship, try a dating site. Looking for family love? Reach out and make plans.
- Meditation, yoga, any type of exercise, skin care…take time for you. Regardless of what type of love you’re seeking, you need to add fun self-care so that you’re happy with yourself.
If you want to work with crystals yourself, I have a free crystal worksheet you can use:

If you want some Rose Quartz of your own, you can buy them in bulk on Amazon (great for crystal grids if you use those!)
Here is a rose quartz face roller if you want to jam self-love into your face:
If you want a single stone, Energy Muse has one here, as well as a pointed stone, a cool AF unicorn, and a Ganesh statue.
